Women of Bloomsbury
About the tour:
Come explore the picturesque neighbourhood of Bloomsbury, an area, that throughout history has been linked to London’s culture vultures, intellects, artists and writers. This walking tour will share the stories, achievements and struggles of women throughout history who were connected to the area. You’ll walk in the footsteps of writer Virginia Woolf, World War Two spy Noor Inayat Khan, abolitionist Mary Prince, Britain’s first female dentist Lilian Lindsay and many more.
This tour is operated by Women of London, a women’s history walking tour company created by experienced tour guides. After many years of taking people on tours around London while working for other companies, the two female founders decided it was time to teach London’s history through the achievements of women. Women of London aims to show visitors and locals that women’s History can be found everywhere.
