Misfits of Covent Garden
This is one of our partner-run experiences, so you’ll book directly with Rebel Tours.
About the tour:
Covent Garden is much more than posh shopping boutiques and fancy restaurants… in fact, it’s home to some of the craziest and most colourful characters in London’s history. Wander through the centuries with us to discover how this area evolved from Westminster Abbey’s vegetable garden and became a hustling and bustling market, a theatre district, a centre of vice and deprivation, and even a slum that would inspire none other than Charles Dickens. Join us to discover Central London’s most fascinating district, by meeting its inhabitants: the misfits of Covent Garden!
This tour is operated by female-founded Rebel Tours, a lovely bunch of professional tour guides, historians, and rebels. After working many years in the tourism industry, they grew tired of the same old way of doing things, so they came together to create a different way of experiencing London; one that would allow them to share the stories they really love and create an engaging, interactive environment where you’re not just a passive tourist, but an active part of the group.
The tour is technically wheelchair accessible but the terrain has proven to be slightly challenging.
